Thanks to my friend, Gaye, I am posting 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 obsessions/collections and 3 facts about myself.

JOYS
  1. Most definitely my family. They are my greatest source of joy and support. From my best friend and husband to my children (that includes my in-laws) and grandchildren to my ancestors, there is nothing quite like feeling connected to wonderful people.
  2. The earth and all it's marvelous beauties and wonders. There is a naturalist hidden inside me and I always notice birds, sunsets, rain, music, etc. Oh, and did I mention food. I love good food. God must have loved me to give me all this.
  3. The Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am member of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" and it has brought me peace, happiness and strength. It's my anchor in a stormy sea. I thank God for all of these 3 things.
FEARS
  1. The moral decay of our society. I just don't want to get blown up like Sodom and Gomorrah or even something a little closer to our time like Pompeii (I am not suggesting they were bad but it was the Las Vegas of their time). I have nightmares of pillars of salt and people captured in eternal agony.
  2. Losing all my teeth. Like I said, I like food and gumming it just isn't the same.
  3. Free falling - Give me a roller coaster even one that goes upside down but don't let me free fall. I think Splash Mountain is the scariest ride at Disneyland.
GOALS

  1. Getting my house in order. After taking care of my mother-in-law for 13 years with 4 teenagers in the house, I kind of lost incentive. But there is renewed interest brewing. Honest! there really is. Stop laughing! Interest or not it is a goal.
  2. Learning Spanish - I have decided if I want to keep up with what is going on in my country it is time to understand what is being said. I figure if my son can learn Hungarian then I can learn a language especially one I have grown up hearing.
  3. Eating better and exercising - I have decided that weight is just not an issue anymore. Better for me to concentrate on eating good food and keeping physically fit.
OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS
  1. Reading - one of my reading favorites is the Ender's Game series and Ender's Shadow Series and the next book is to be released Nov. 11th. Hallalujah! I am glad I have this now that Harry Potter is over. I might give Twilight a try since my daughter and daughter-in-laws love it. But do try Enchantment.
  2. Ghost Hunters/Ghost Tours - I love the tv series (the only television I watch) and have been on two ghost tours one in Edinburgh, Scotland and the other Roswell, Georgia. I love the history with a dark bend to it. They tell it like it is instead of the flowery version.
  3. Jane Austen Movies - I think I have all of them that are worth having. I have 2 versions of Persuasion, 2 versions of Sense and Sensiblity, 2 versions of Pride and Prejudice, 2 versions of Mansfield Park and 1 version of Northanger Abbey. Sigh! And though it is not Jane Austen let me recommend North and South (Elizabeth Gaskell was the author). (And did I mention Family History and Cooking and.... I think I have too many obsessions!)
FACTS
  1. I love learning - The day I stop learning is the day I die.
  2. Music in in the very soul of my being. I sing when I am sad or when I am happy or just for company.
  3. I am not an island and need the relationship of family and good friends or I cannot be resposible for my mental sanity.
This was a wonderful opportunity for self-reflection. I found I really do like myself.
